NAEC Monthly Family Update

Hello NAEC Families,

As we move through April, we would like to take a moment to celebrate the many wonderful things happening at NAEC and extend our sincere gratitude to the people who help make our school such a vibrant and caring community.

First and foremost, a huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who supported our Annual NAEC Book Fair. Events like this simply would not be possible without the time, energy, and generosity of our amazing parent community. Your support helps create meaningful learning opportunities and memorable experiences for our students, and we are truly grateful.

We are also excited to share that four of our secondary students will be representing NAEC and the Limestone District School Board at the Ontario Provincial Skills Competition. This is an outstanding achievement, and we are extremely proud of both our students and the excellent program led by Mr. Borger. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to developing real‑world skills truly reflect the strength of our secondary programming at NAEC.

This month, several of our students benefited from immunizations and dental screening, along with our regular monthly visit from Nurse Practitioner Maggie. We feel very fortunate to have the support of so many external agencies who come into our school to help care for and support the well‑being of our students. These partnerships play an important role in helping our students thrive.

We would also like to extend a big congratulations to our NAEC badminton teams, who have been participating in various tournaments and representing our school with pride. In addition, we recently hosted a Northern Elementary Chess Tournament, and this week we are excited to be hosting a Junior Girls and Boys Basketball Tournament. A special thank you to Mr. Kerr and our dedicated student leaders, as well as Mr. Jamieson and his grade 7/8 students who continue to help make these events run so smoothly. Their leadership and commitment are greatly appreciated.

This week, our school will also be recognizing Earth Day. Classes will be engaging in a schoolyard and community clean‑up, helping our students learn the importance of caring for the environment and giving back to their community.

As we head into the final weeks of April, we are reminded how quickly the last two months of the school year tend to fly by. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our incredible NAEC staff. Their tireless efforts—both inside and outside the classroom—go above and beyond the curriculum and help make NAEC such a welcoming, supportive, and wonderful place to be each day.
