Dear NAEC Students and Families,

We are writing to share an important update about the exam schedule and the start of Semester 2 at North Addington Education Centre. We apologize for any confusion that has been created as we navigate these disruptions.

Due to recent inclement weather and bus cancellations, exams scheduled for today have been rescheduled to the next exam day, Tuesday, January 27. As a result, all subsequent exams have moved forward by one day.

Updated NAEC Exam Schedule

· Day 2 Exams → will now be written on Tuesday, January 27

· Day 3 Exams → will now be written on Wednesday, January 28

· Day 4 Exams → will now be written on Thursday, January 29

Please note that the Professional Activity (PA) Day on Friday, January 30 will remain a PA Day and cannot be used for exams.

Start of Semester 2

To remain consistent across the Limestone District School Board, and to accommodate these exam schedule changes, the first day of Semester 2 at NAEC will be: Tuesday, February 3

This means:

· Monday, February 2 – will be used as an additional exam / exam completion day, if needed, consistent with Board contingency planning.  If students have already completed their exams there are no classes for them and therefore can remain at home.

· Tuesday, February 3 – will be the first instructional day of Semester 2 for all NAEC students.

Possible Further Inclement Weather

If we experience another day of bus cancellations during the exam period, the exam schedule may continue to shift forward by one exam day, as previously communicated by the Board. If this occurs and schedules need to be adjusted further, we will:

· Communicate any changes directly to families by e-mail

· Post updates on the NAEC school website

· Share information with students through school emails

We encourage families to monitor school and Board communications closely throughout this period of winter weather.

We recognize that these shifts may cause disruption, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff, while also supporting a fair and consistent exam process.

If you have any questions about your student’s exam schedule, please contact the school.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,

Becky MacDonald and Paul Hewitt
